The short version

  • We collect what you share with us, like your application and campaign details, plus basic technical data to run the site.
  • We use it to review applications, match opportunities, run campaigns and pay you.
  • We never sell your personal information. Brands see your details only when it's needed for their campaign.
  • You can ask to access, correct or delete your information at any time.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

01Who we are

Global Media Expert (“GME”, “we”, “us”) connects content creators with paid promotional opportunities for apps, software and physical products, and helps brands plan and run those campaigns. We work from hubs in New York and Mumbai.

This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, apply to the creator network, use the creator portal, take part in a campaign or contact our team. GME is responsible for the personal information described here.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Creator applications. Your name, email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, country or region, social profile link, content category and what you tell us about your content and audience.
  • Campaigns. The content you submit, your communications with us and, when you are due a payment, the payout and tax details needed to pay you.
  • Brand enquiries. Your name, company, work email and information about your product and campaign goals.
  • Creator portal. Your login email and account activity, such as the opportunities you view or accept.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device and the pages requested, to deliver the website, keep it secure and diagnose problems. See our Cookie Policy for details on browser storage.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrived and their approximate location. Advertising features are turned off and the data is kept for up to 14 months. You can block analytics at any time, as explained in the Cookie Policy.

Information from other sources

When you apply, we may review publicly available information from the profiles you share, such as content style, follower counts and engagement, to assess campaign fit. Brand partners may also share feedback about completed campaigns.

03How we use information

  • To review creator applications and match members with suitable opportunities.
  • To run campaigns, including briefs, approvals, communication and payments.
  • To respond to enquiries and provide support.
  • To send opportunity updates you have asked for, which you can opt out of at any time.
  • To keep the website, portal and our users secure and to prevent fraud or misuse.
  • To improve our services and comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

05How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We share information only where it is needed, in the situations below.

  • With brand partners. Your public creator profile and campaign content when you are being considered for, or have accepted, their campaign. Contact and payment details are shared only where necessary for that campaign.
  • With service providers who help us operate, such as hosting, website analytics (Google Analytics), email and payment providers, under contracts that require them to protect your information.
  • With professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, under duties of confidentiality.
  • For legal reasons. To comply with the law, enforce our terms or protect the rights and safety of GME, our users or others.
  • In a business change, such as a merger or acquisition, where the recipient agrees to protect your information as described here.

06International transfers

Because we operate from the United States and India and work with creators and brands worldwide, your information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities.

07How long we keep information

  • Applications that do not lead to membership are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can consider you for future campaigns, or for less time if you ask us to delete them.
  • Member profiles are kept while you are a member, and for a short period after you leave.
  • Campaign and payment records are kept for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require.
  • Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted or anonymised.

08Keeping information secure

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and limiting access to people who need it. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password for the creator portal and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

09Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, for example in the EEA, the UK, California or India, you may have the following rights.

  • To access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • To correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • To ask us to delete your information or restrict how we use it.
  • To object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • To withdraw consent, without affecting processing that has already taken place.
  • To nominate another person to exercise your rights, where local law allows.
  • To complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email support@globalmediaexpert.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

10Children

Our services are not directed to children. Creators must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where they live, to join the network. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The “Last updated” date shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell creator network members by email or in the portal before it takes effect.

12Contact us
